Debraj Roy (9 December 1954 – 17 October 2024) was an Indian actor best known for his contributions to Bengali Doordarshan and Bengali cinema. He made his film debut with Satyajit Ray's Pratidwandi (1970) and gained wider recognition for his iconic role in Mrinal Sen's Calcutta 71 (1971).
Death
Debraj Roy passed away on 17 October 2024 at the age of 69, following multiple organ failure after battling serious health issues for several months. He died in a private hospital in Kolkata.
He is survived by his wife Anuradha Roy, who was also a Bengali actress and a popular news reader.
