Paromitar Ekdin, directed by Aparna Sen, was perhaps Rajatabha Dutta’s second film where he played Rituparna’s husband. Years later, Rajatabha is again playing Rituparna’s husband in Maya Kumari. “Though we did a film together in between, called Pati Parameshwar, I feel the audience will like our chemistry more in this film, where I play a musician. People still ask me if I was jittery when I was paired opposite Ritu in Paromitar Ekdin, as she was a star back then. But I was not, as she was my para friend before we both came into acting. Rather, I was more nervous about working with Aparna Sen,” said the actor, who has lost 11 kilos in the past three months and have watched 118 films till date in this lockdown.
The actor’s dubbing dates for Maya Kumari got cancelled twice recently. “I am not sure when we will start dubbing. Since the dubbing studios are air-conditioned, it is not safe to work there at the moment. My dubbing dates got cancelled twice by the production house. But still, one has to work accepting the new normal. Let’s see how things unfold,” said Rajatabha.
