Films on food is a new trend in Bengali films and Rituparna Sengupta starrer film Aha Re is a new addition to this group. The film Aha Re is also Rituparna Sengupta's debut film as film producer.

Film Aha Re will be directed by Ranjan Ghosh of Hrid Majharey fame. Rituparna and Bangladeshi actor Arifin Shuvo are in the lead of the cross-border love story. Rituparna plays the role of a homecook while Arifin will be seen essaying the role of a chef from Dhaka.
Earlier in 2015, Tollywood's first food film Swade Ahlade was released. Last year Pratim D Gupta's Maacher Jhol was praised bu audiences.
