Bollywood Actress Sridevi Passes Away

Legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi passed away on Saturday at about 11.30 PM in Dubai after a massive cardiac arrest, reports say. Sri was only 54. Sridevi was in Dubai for a family function with her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi. Her elder daughter Janhvi did not accompany the family due to her shooting schedule.

Sridevi made her Bollywood debut in 1978 with film Solva Sawan but commercial success came later. In 80's, Sridevi became the heartthrob of young generation with films like Jeetendra-starrer Himmatwala, Mawaali (1983), Tohfa (1984) etc. The other films like Mr India (1987), Chandni (1989) were other commercial box office hits of Sridevi. 

Sridevi's acting potentiality was found in films like Sadma (1983), ChaalBaaz (1989), Lamhe (1991), and Gumrah (1993). After film Judaai, Sridevi took a break of 15 years and came back with film titled English Vinglish in 2012.

in 2017, Sridevi was seen in revenge-drama film titled Mom opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. She shot for a special appearance in superstar Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film Zero.

Sridevi was born  to Tamil father Ayyapan and Telugu mother Rajeswari as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan on 13 August 1963 at Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. Sridevi married film producer Boney Kapoor in 1996 but before that Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty got married secretly in 80s..

Sridevi has also worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada films.
