Urmila Matondkar, during her teenage worked in many films. In 1987, Urmila Matondkar worked in film Dacait and worked in the role of Sunny Deol's sister in the film. At that time, Urmila was 13 years old. The other films of Urmila Matondkar at her teen age are Bade Ghar Ki Beti (1989), Chanakyan (1989), Narasimha (1991), Chamatkar (1992), Antham (1992), Drohi (1992), Shreemaan Aashique (1993), Gaayam(1993), Bedardi(1993).

In film Chanakyan, Urmila worked opposite Kamal Haasan and at that time she was only 15 years old. From that time, Indian film industry got sufficient indications that a cute and sexy actress is on her way.

Film Chamatkar was released on 1992 and Urmila was 18 years old then. Urmila worked in the lead female role in the film and opposite Shah Rukh Khan. During 90's actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Meenakshi Seshadri, Juhi Chawla, Sridevi were top stars but Urmila was like a fresh air in the industry. 

Urmila Matondkar worked opposite Rishi Kapoor (heroine of Rishi) in film Shreemaan Aashique and at that time she ws 19.
