Rituparna Sengupta and her upcoming film Mahanayika
Debutant
filmmaker Saikat Bhakat is all set to make his first film based on the life of
legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen. Title of the film is Mahanayika and
Rituparna Sengupta will play the role of Shakuntala, the lead role of the film.

About the film Mahanayika
The
film Mahanayika is not a biopic of Suchitra Sen but the film has certain
incidents having similarities with her life. Actor Indraneil Sengupta plays the
role of a detective Priyabrata Roy and Saheb Bhattacharya plays the role of a
childhood friend of Shakuntala and a film producer with whom her relation later
turns sour.
