Bengali detective films are passing through golden time. In recent past it was ghost movies period and now detective films. Feluda, Byomkesh, Shabor and Kakababu  are the detectives. Byomkesh films are made in Bengali and Hindi. TV serial of Byomkesh is going on for Bengali audiences. Prosenjit Chatterjee has already played Kakababu in Srijit Mukherjee’s film Mishor Rahasya and now another Bengali film superstar Chiranjeet will play the role of Kakababu.

Chiranjeet was once box office hero of Bengali films. Recently Chiranjeet has started his second innings of filmy career and the starting is successful. In film Chotushkone, Bengali film audiences discovered a serious Chiranjeet. The film titled Jangal Garer Chabi will be directed by Raja Roychoudhury and RP Tech Vision. The novel Jangal Garer Chabi written by Sunil Gangopadhyay was published in 1987. 

Chiranjeet has already signed for the film and is very much excited getting the role of Kakababu in film Jangal Garer Chabi. Prosenjit Chatterjee and Srijit Mukherjee are aware of the fact that another Kakababu film will be produced with Chiranjeet in the leading role. News is that Prosenjit-Srijit will start shooting of another Kakababu film from May this year and both the Kakababu films of Chiranjeet and Prosenjit will release during Durga Puja this year, most probably on the same date.

The book, Sandhya Rater Shefali has been written in collaboration with Shirsha Bandopadhyay which narrates the transformation of Arati Das to Miss Shefali, from extreme poverty to a life of extravagance and finally from colourful nightouts with friends to a life of loneliness.

The dancer is still known as Miss Shefali, very few people are aware that her actual name is Arati Das. Miss Shefali has witnessed every colour of life and now she resides in a small flat at Nagerbazar with her niece.

Miss Shefali felt the need to reveal the fact which forced a mere thirteen years old girl Arati Das to became a cabaret dancer. During 70’s Miss Shefali was considered as a sex bomb in Bengal. Miss Shefali appeared in cabaret dance sequences of many Bengali theatres apart from a regular cabaret bar dancer. Miss Shefali has acted in many cinemas also. People of that criticized the lady for wearing skimpy skirts and cleavage- revealing blouses and dancing at bars at night.
