Nothing is impossible specially when the issue like publicity is concerned. There is a doubt over the shoplifting act of Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee in Singapore. Was it an actual shoplifting act or simply a publicity gimmick?

Why publicity gimmick? Swastika Mukherjee is a Bengali actress who is popular in Bengali films. Swastika is different from the other actresses in Bengal in all respect. Her bold life style has made her different. Swastika is an actress is good but she is not in the front line among the actresses in Bengal right now.

Swastika Mukherjee is an unknown name in Hindi cinema and her Hindi film Dibakar Bannerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy with Sushant Singh Rajput will be released soon. Rumour is that Swastika said she was practising to be a spy by stealing jewellery in a Singapore shop. This is a ridiculous explanation to defend the blame of shoplifting.

What may be the reason is totally unknown. Is it that Swastika did the act to get attention? A Bengali co-star of Swastika thinks Swastika has done the shoplifting drama very tactfully. The actress said: "She is very clear in her head that she wants to be the the next Sharmila Tagore and Bipasha Basu combined. She realised Detective Bhyomkesh was Sushant's film through and through. She wanted her own portion of attention. She got it when the swiped ear-rings made news all across India."

A senior Bengali actress said: "Forget shoplifting, Swastika would lift the entire shop to get attention."
