Bengali film actress Swastika Mukherjee is again in controversy on allegedshoplifting issue in Singapore while attending the Bengali Film Festival – Darpan.
As
per report, CCTV footage of the jewellery shop in Singapore shows that the
actress tucked in a pair of gold earrings worth $250, Rs. 15000 into her
handbag.
The
jewellery shop owner is sure that Swastika Mukherjee has lisfted the pair of
earrings. The owner of the jewellery showroom said: "Our CCTV cameras have
caught her lifting the piece of jewellery and then putting it in her handbag.
She hasn't paid for it. We have already appealed to her to pay for the item as
it costs $250. We are waiting for a response from her. We don't want to make a
hue and cry about it. We just want her to return our jewellery to us if she
doesn't wish to buy it."
This
is an shameful incident for Bengali film actors and actresses. Swastike is
prone to controversial issue like suicide attempt, bold relationships etc but
this shoplifting issue, if proved true is the worst.
Swastike
Mukherjee is tryting to defend herself saying that the earrings may have
accidentally slipped into her handbag. Swastika said: "I don't know how it
got into my bag. Perhaps it was by accident. But I have bought other jewellery
from the store and I have got receipts for it."
