There was a rumour that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer
Hindi film Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ)
will be removed from Maratha Mandir in December this year. The film is running
for last 19 years in the prestigious cinema hall in Mumbai. Managing director
Manoj Desai said that the news is "false".
Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge (DDJL) was released on 20 October 1995 and since then the movie is running in Maratha Mandir. In 2007, Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge broke the record set by Sholay.In this December Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge will be in its 1,000th week at Maratha Mandir. Presently Maratha Mandir has a Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge show daily at 11.30 am. On weekdays still there is 40 to 50 percent occupancy and on the weekend the film runs houseful.
