Who is No 1 Heroine - Queen in Bengali Film Industry

Who is the no 1 heroine in Bengali films presently? This is a big question in Tollywood but there is no answer. Rituparna Sungupta rules the Bengali film industry for long 10 years as the queen of the industry. Now Rituparna is 40 plus and she is now acting in different off-beat matured roles. Right now Rituparna Sengupta can not be considered as a romantic heroine in films although at this age Ritu is still looking gorgeous.

After RituparnaSengupta, Koel Mallick was in the no 1 position among the Bengali film heroines. Consecutive two flops – Arundhuti and Highway has pushed Koel in backward direction. The question is who is the Tollywood queen right now?

Bengali Actresses

Srabanti Chatterjee

Among the young actresses, Srabanti Chatterjee was in the race of number one heroine in Bengali films. Srabanti is mother of a grown up boy but she is young and glamorous. Although height of Srabanti is little bit short but her face is so cute. Last year Srabanti worked in a different type of role in Aparna Sen’s Goynar Baksho and her performance was praised. Srabanti’s career graph was moving in right direction but her personal problems – separation with her husbandRajib has affected her career. Srabanti’s recent released film Bindaas is a box office flop. Latest released film of Srabanti is Buno Haansh and Srabanti Chatterjee has successfully acted in a different type of role in the film. Inspite of all odds, Srabanti Chatterjee has the required potential and beauty to become the queen of Bengali films but right now she is not the number one heroine in Bengali films.

Subhashree Ganguly

SubhashreeGanguly-Dev acted in many box office success films but recently Subhashree Ganguly is not in the good book of Dev and Venkatesh Films. Subhashree Ganguly ha spaired with Jeet and their film Boss was a super hit in box office. Subhashree Ganguly tried her luck in different type of film – Anjan Dutta’s Sesh Bole Kichu Nei but the film is a flop. In 2014, Subhashree Ganguly has no such box office hit. Subhashree has to work more hard to become heroine number one in Tollywood.

Sayantika Banerjee and Nushrat Jahan

Sayantika Banerjee has worked with Jeet and Dev and her dancing capability is well known. Sayantika Banerjee has to work more on her acting to prove herself as an actress. Sayantika Banerjee is not in the race right now.
Nushrat Jahan came in the industry with great promise but recently it seems that she is not very much carefull about her filmy career.

Swastika Mukhopadhyay

Swastika Mukhopadhyay was once considered as the main challenger of Koel Mallick. Swastika had every quality to become the no 1 heroine in Bengali films but due to any unknown reason she has shifted her focus from mainstream films to different type of films. Mainly successful heroines of mainstream commercial films are considered for no 1 heroine – queen of the industry.

Raima Sen

Raima Sen was never in the race of no 1 heroine – queen of the industry. Raima prefers to work in different type of films and she has created her own space in the industry.

Paoli Dam

There is no question regarding acting talent of Paoli Dam and one day she may prove herself as good actress but she may not become queen of the industry.

Parno Mitra and Tanushree Chakraborty

Parno Mitra has acted in different type of roles but most of the directors and producers are worried about her attitude problem. Presently Parno is not in the race to become no 1 heroine – queen of the Bengali film industry.
Tanushree Chakraborty has the beauty but still she lacks the acting talent. Tanushree has to work hard on her acting to become no 1 heroine – queen of the industry.

Mimi Chakraborty

Mimi is in the race and many filmy critics consider her as the future no 1 heroine – queen of the Bengali film industry.
