Indian Cricket team’s recent England tour has
raised many controversies. Performance of Indian team was hopeless and the man who
is the most dependable batmsn right now, Virat Kohli has failed to perform upto
the mark. There are many reasons for the bad performance of Indian team but it
is assumed that presence of Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma with Indian team
during the tour is the main reason for the poor performance of Virat Kohli. Anushka
is girlfriend of Virat Kohli and BCCI permitted Anushka to stay in the same
hotel during the tour where Virat was staying.
Indian team manager Sunil Dev has expressed his
unhappiness over the issue - Anushka Sharma being allowed to accompany Virat
Kohli during the tour. According to Dev, it would have been better if
permission was not granted to Anushka Sharma to accompany Virat Kohli during
the England tour. Dev feels that Indian society doesn’t approve of girlfriends
travelling with the players on tour and our players mental set up does not
permit it.
BCCI defends them by saying that permission was
granted as Virat and Anushka are planning to marry soon. This logic may not be
able to stop the issue.
