Natianal award winning director Anjan
Das is no more in this world. The director died today at the age of 64. Anjan
Das was suffering from colon cancer. The director was admitted to hospital a little over three weeks back. Anjan Das knew that he was suffering
from jaundice and very soon he will be back home. The director is survived by
his wife and son.
Anjan Das’s first feature film Sainik was made in the mid-70s in year 2001, he made the film Saanjhbatir Rupkathara – after a long gap. Recently Anjan Das was making film Ajana Batash. Paoli Dam is the heroine of the film. Some of the films of director Anjan Das are: Banshiwala, Achin Pakhi, Bedeni, Iti Srikanta (the film won a National Award for Best Audiography in 2004), Faltu (won a National Award for The Best Feature Film On Welfare), Jara Brishtitey Bhije Chilo (won him the Special Director's Award at Almaty, Kazakhstan).
