Next wonder boy in cricket – Prithvi Shaw


Wonder boy Prithvi Shaw
At the time of retirement of Sunil Gavaskar from international cricket in 1987, Indian cricket lovers were depressed with the thought that Indian cricket would have no charm without Sunil Monohar Gavaskar. Sachin Tendulkar made his debut in test cricket in 1989 and since then Sachin era continued for 24 years. Sachin played his last test match on 14 November 2013 and the same vacuum in Indian team will be felt as it occurred at the end of Sunil Gavaskar’s era.

India may expect another wonder boy in Indian cricket, Prithvi Shaw is grooming under great care. Prithvi Shaw is also from Mumbai and recently he has scored 546 for Rizvi Springfield against St Francis D'Assissi in the elite division of the Harris Shield tournament for senior schoolboys. This score is a world record.

Prithvi Shaw is a class IX student and he was the caption of the team. The tournament was for school students under 16. Prithvi Shaw hit 85 boundaries and 5 sixes in his 546 runs.

Prithvi Shaw is well known in Mumbai school circuit and also playing tournaments in England which just below the level of first-class cricket. 

Prithvi Shaw is 14 year old and at this tender age he is the earning member of his family. Prithvi Shaw’ mother died when he was 4 years old. Prithvi Shaw was signed up by former Indian spinner Nilesh Kulkarni's sports management company for Rs 3 lakh a year.
