Chatterjee is a graduate from Jogamaya Devi College, of the University of
Calcutta.

Chatterjee got married with Prasenjit Bhattacharjee when she was only 16 years
old. Prasenjit is with the marketing division of a media house.
Locket Chatterjee is a trained dancer and
previously she was with the Mamata Shankar. Locket Chatterjee joined film industry after
the birth of her son in 2000. Due to a different kind of upbringing and
different kind of family set up, Locket is different from other actresses in
the industry.
Till today Locket Chatterjee has not played
in any lead role of a film and she is waiting for it.
Once Locket Chatterjee was very close to Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress but now she has joined BJP. Locket contested from Mayureswar assembly constituency, Birbhum district in West Bengal assembly elections 2016 but was defeated.
