Parambrata Chottopadhyay in Kaushik Ganguly’s next movie Apur Panchali

Bengali film Pather Panchali is considered as the turning point of Indian film industry. Apu was the main character in the film but it seems that everybody has forgotten the artist who portrayed the character of Apu in Pather Panchali.

Subir Banerjee played the role of Apu in Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali. Director Kaushik Ganguly is trying to explore the real life story of Subir Banerjee in his upcoming film Apur Panchali.

Parambrata Chottopadhyay will play the young Subir Banerjee’s role and Parno Mittra will play his wife in this film.

At present Subir Banerjee is 68 years old and he is a retired man. Subir Banerjee never acted in any film other than Pather Panchali.
