Directors of Bengali films are performing as actor in other director’s films. This trend is not new. The list of directors who have acted in other director’s films is very long. Name of few of such directors: Gautam Ghose, Rituparno Ghosh, Srijit Mukherji, Anjan Dutta, Aparna Sen and Parambrata Chottopadhyay. Anjan Dutta, Aparna Sen and Parambrata Chottopadhyay started their filmy career as actors and gradually they became director.
New addition in the list is director of Kaahani, Sujoy Ghosh. Sujoy Ghosh will act in upcoming Bengali film Chorabali, directed by Rituparno Ghosh.
Chorabali is a Bengali film based on detective novel written by Bengali author Sharadindu Bandopadhyay. Sujoy Ghosh will play the role of Bengali detective Byomkesh Bakshi in Chorabali.
Director Rituparno Ghosh thinks that Sujoy Ghosh is the fittest for the role of Byomkesh Bakshi in Chorabali. Let’s see how the Kaahani director performs in front of the camera.
