Jaspal Bhatti is dead – died of road accident


The great comedian Jaspal Bhatti is no more with us. The 57 years old Jaspal Bhatti died on road accident. Jaspal Bhatti was on a promotional tour of his upcoming film ‘Power Cut’. Jaspal Bhatti along with his son Jasraj and the lead actress Surili Gautam were travelling from Jalandhar from Bhatinda. The car in which they were travelling collided with a tree on 25 October 2012 at about 1.00 hrs. They were taken to hospital where Jaspal Bhatti  was declared dead. The other two, Jasraj and Suril are severely injured.
Jaspal Bhatti is survived by his wife, son and daughter. An electrical engineer from Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh, Bhatti worked as a cartoonist earlier.

  1. A great loss for a country where satirical humour is very rare. Jaspal Bhatti's shows also were also replete with anti-corruption messages, albeit in a satirical vein. RIP
