The great comedian Jaspal Bhatti is no more
with us. The 57 years old Jaspal Bhatti died on road accident. Jaspal Bhatti
was on a promotional tour of his upcoming film ‘Power Cut’. Jaspal Bhatti along
with his son Jasraj and the lead actress Surili Gautam were travelling from Jalandhar
from Bhatinda. The car in which they were travelling collided with a tree on 25
October 2012 at about 1.00 hrs. They were taken to hospital where Jaspal Bhatti
was declared dead. The other two, Jasraj
and Suril are severely injured.
Jaspal Bhatti is survived by his wife, son
and daughter. An electrical engineer from Punjab Engineering College in
Chandigarh, Bhatti worked as a cartoonist earlier.
A great loss for a country where satirical humour is very rare. Jaspal Bhatti's shows also were also replete with anti-corruption messages, albeit in a satirical vein. RIP
