actor Thilakan died on 25 September 2012 at a private hospital following a
cardiac arrest. Thilakan was active in stage as well as screen for four
decades. Age of Thilakan was 77 years and he was suffering for long time.
Actor Thilakan was admitted to hospital on 23 September after he suffered two mild heart attacks. He was on ventilator since then.
Thilakan started his career from stage. Afterwards Thilakan entered the film industry. Actor Thilakan won the national award for best supporting actor for his film in 'Ritubhedangal' in 1988.
Thilakan was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009.
