Bengali singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya left his home town Kanpur and reached Mumbai with a dream to become playback singer in Hindi films. Initial days of Abhijeet Bhattacharya in Mumbai were very tough. In those days, Abhijeet Bhattacharya used to stay at a rented house in Wadala near Dadar in Mumbai. Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya used to meet music directors of Hindi film industry for a break and perform on stage at different functions. At that time his contact number was a telephone number of a Paan Shop at wadala. One day he received a message from the paan shop owner that someone has called in that phone and wanted Abhijeet Bhattacharya to meet him urgently. The caller left his phone number for Abhijeet Bhattacharya. The caller was famous music director Rahul DevBurman. Abhijeet Bhattacharya got his first break in Hindi playback singing in the debut film of Dev Anand’s son.
