A movie ‘Raju’ in which Bengal is present from all angles has been nominated for this year’s Oscars. Shooting of Raju is done almost entirely in Kolkata and most of the cast and crew are from West Bengal including Arindam Sil as executive producer and actor.
Movie Raju is made by Germany’s Hamburg Media School and the story of the movie revolves round a German couple at Kolkata who adopt an orphaned boy in the city. Krish Gupta has played the role of Raju, the orphaned boy.
Suchismita Dasgupta from Kolkata is the costume designer of Raju. Arindam Sil, actor and executive producer of Raju is overwhelmed with the news of Oscar nominationwhich is declared.
Director Max Zahle and producer Stefan Gieren are both movie students. Arindam Sil praised their style of work. Raju has already won many awards which includes the Bronze Medal at the Student Academy Awards.
