Indrani Sen is the most famous Bengali female singer of recent times. She is comfortable in all types of songs- Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and modern Bengali songs. Indrani Sen is the daughter of noted Rabindra Sangeet singer, Sumitra Sen.

Indrani Sen is not only a singer, she is also an outstanding academician with outstanding results in school level, college and university. She is in the profession of teaching and is associated with a famous college in Kolkata. Most interesting thing is that first love of Indrani Sen is her teaching profession and next is singing. She does not think herself as a professional singer and that’s why she has rejected so many offers of singing in Hindi films. The pleasant looking lady with a sweet voice is the perfect blend of brain, beauty and talent.

In Higher Secondary examination, Indrani Sen stood thirdin the Humanities Group (first among the girls). From Jadavpur University she got first class Master’s degree in Economics. She has acquired Ph.D from University of Calcutta.

Initial training of Indrani Sen started at home under the guidance of her mother. Afterwards Indrani Sen got training in Rabindra Sangeet from legendary Rabindra Sangeet singer Debabrata Biswas. She took training from Purabi Dutta in Nazrul Geeti and in classical music, Bibhuti Dutta was her Guru.

She was under the guidance of Biman Mukhopadhyay also for variety of Bengali songs like Toppa, Thungri etc.
